ANN BOURGEOIS
Art is the lens through which Bourgeois interacts with the world.Art is a way of life, both professionally and personally. Since 2007, Bourgeois consults architects and designers in commercial and residential spaces as an art consultant. When not procuring others' art she is focussed on honing her own craft of painting.
As a young artist, Bourgeois was encouraged by her art teacher Rob WIlliams, a respected art consultant, museum curator and collector, to persevere in her appreciation of and practice of art. Following his advice, she took art courses and studied art history at Hollins University and UNC Chapel Hill. She has studied painting with Elizabeth Ross, founder of the Art Department of Central Piedmont Community College, as well as Larry Moore. Additional studies have been photography and studio metalsmithing jewelry. Print making classes at McColl Center began hand-printing process to enhance Bourgeois' painting.
Whether at home or travelling, art exhibits, art fairs and markets, gallery openings and lectures dominate her time, energy and constant passion.
